What Ambroxol is used for
Ambroxol is an expectorant/mucolytic used in the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory disorders associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport.
Do not take Ambroxol if
You are hypersensitive to any of the components.
Possible side effects
Ambroxol is generally well-tolerated. Mild upper gastrointestinal side effects (primarily heartburn, dyspepsia, and occasionally nausea, vomiting) have been reported.
Allergic reactions, primarily skin rash, have been rarely reported.
Other medicines and Ambroxol
Avoid concomitant use of Ambroxol with antibiotics.
How to take Ambroxol
Ambroxol syrup: Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml three times daily; to be increased to 20 ml twice daily in severe conditions and in the initial treatment of chronic conditions up to 14 days.
Ambroxol syrup should be taken at mealtimes. A valid prescription should be available upon delivery
